Written Specifically for Young Professionals and Students

When I graduated college in 2018, I was eager to build wealth and make the most of the income I’d be earning from my first post-college job. However, I realized pretty quickly that I didn’t really know where to start. So, I spent the next several months reading and learning as much as I could about personal finance, so that I could put myself in the best position possible. Now, several years later, it’s become a genuine passion of mine, and my desire for more personal finance knowledge appears to be insatiable.

Later on, understanding that I was an avid reader of personal finance content, friends and colleagues of mine began to ask me many of the same questions that I’d asked myself along my journey, which made me realize that there is evidently a significant lack of tailored personal finance content for young professionals and students. Through creating The Wealth Vault, my goal is to provide a comprehensive resource to help others like me, saving them time and effort, so they can focus on living their best lives while maximizing their money.

Explained Simply and with Real Examples

During my research into personal finance, I found many resources to be written in complex language tailored to finance professionals, making it harder to understand for a new grad with no academic finance background, such as myself. I also found that the most effective and interesting content included real examples or personal narratives to help illustrate a concept, which immediately made things easier to understand and relate to.

With both of those findings in-mind, I write each article for the Wealth Vault in plain language and strive to include examples from my personal life and real financial situation. For instance, when I explain the steps to crafting a monthly budget, which underpins a strong personal financial journey, I used my actual budget figures from 2019. Because I feel so strongly that these real-world examples help to illustrate a concept, I have made this blog anonymous, which allows me to be more open with sharing the fine details of my personal financial situation for the sake of this content, designed for you.

Organized into Six Categories

To make The Wealth Vault easier to navigate, especially for those at the beginning of their personal finance journey, I have organized all articles into six categories: budgeting, income, debt, investing, taxes, and housing. One could argue that there are a lot of facets and nuances to personal finance, but, looking at things from a practical perspective, this breakdown of six categories is pretty comprehensive. Each of the categories is described below, with links for you to dive in and read some of the latest articles for each.
